Carla & Hugh

Beneath the sun-drenched arches of The Calile Hotel, Carla spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids overlooking the skyline that would later become their playground. The couple exchanged vows at the storied St Joseph’s Chapel in Nudgee, a setting steeped in quiet tradition and charm, perfect for their simple yet elegant portraits.

Channelling the spirit of 1960s couture, Carla wore a classic fit-and-flare silhouette layered with a delicate long-sleeved, high-necked lace underlay. Beside her, Hugh looked every bit the modern gentleman in a timeless black tuxedo.

In true inner-city fashion, the celebration continued at Walter’s Steakhouse — a Brisbane institution known for its rich interiors and refined, old-world charm. Over a shared-style meal with family and friends, the space perfectly echoed the couple’s traditional-meets-modern aesthetic.

As the evening unfolded, guests were ushered to Farrier Bar and Supper Club — a moody, subterranean spot where the tempo lifted and heels came off. Carla slipped into her second look of the day: a custom Darb Bridal Couture structured A-line mini, layered with a floor-length sheer tulle underskirt — a look made for dancing under the glittering lights of the cityscape.
